Canopius draws QBE chemical underwriter amid growing demand

Global specialty re/insurer  Canopius Group has expanded its heavy industry and engineering offering to cater for an increasing demand for chemical businesses in the UK and globally.

Mark Gazzard joins the company as a chemical underwriter in the heavy industry & engineering division, bolstering the company's specialised coverage and expertise as part of its expansion efforts.

Gazzard brings over 30 years of industry experience, with a focus on chemical manufacturers to his new role. He joins from QBE, where he was responsible for the growth of its UK chemicals business. Prior to this, he served as a commercial underwriter at Zurich.

At Canopius, Gazzard will offer cover and expertise in organic and inorganic chemicals, develop tailored and flexible solutions for chemical clients globally and spearhead the development of this sector.
