Capsicum Re bolsters Bermuda operations with ex-Amlin hire

Specialist reinsurance broker Capsicum Re has appointed Tom Mills to its Bermudian operation, in a move aimed at growing its presence on the island as it enters fifth year of trading since opening its office in 2014.

Mills previously worked as a private client director at Hampden Agencies, managing and advising Lloyd’s members from 2015 – 2019. Prior to that, he spent several years as an assistant underwriter at Amlin.

Mills joins as a broker and will report to Neville Ching, managing partner of Capsicum Re Bermuda.

Ching said: “I am pleased to welcome Tom to the team. His industry knowledge will complement the skills of our existing team, while his experience in developing products and reinsurance capacity will bolster our offering.”

Mills commented: “Capsicum Re has an excellent reputation and it’s a great time to be joining. They are known for their ability to provide innovative solutions and I am looking forward to working with Nev and the team.”
