Catalina hires new subsidiary CEOs from Swiss Re and StarStone

Legacy specialist Catalina Holdings has appointed new chief executives for its Swiss and Bermudian subsidiaries from Swiss Re and StarStone.

Claudia Ingenhoven has been appointed as CEO of Glacier Re, Catalina’s Swiss subsidiary, while Sarah Ruberry will join as CEO of Catalina General, Catalina’s flagship Bermuda-based reinsurer.

Ingenhoven most recently served as chief financial officer of iptiQ EMEA P&C, Swiss Re’s pan-European white-label P&C insurer. Prior to her time at Swiss Re, she spent over a decade in the run-off arena in a variety of roles with AXA Liabilities Managers, including group CFO, head of M&A integration and CEO of AXA LM Switzerland.

Ingenhoven replaces Martin Kauer who previously held the CEO role since July 2011. Kauer has moved to Singapore where he is now CEO of Asia Capital Re (ACR), Catalina’s most recent strategic acquisition.

Ruberry joins from StarStone, a specialty insurer, where she was chief risk officer (CRO) of the US and Bermuda operations.

Ruberry succeeds Gary Haase, Catalina’s group chief operating officer, who has held the position since 2017 and will remain a director of CatGen as the group continues its focus on growing CatGen.
