Charles Taylor Adjusting expands with South African office

Charles Taylor Adjusting (CTA), the loss adjusting businesses, has opened an office in Cape Town, South Africa.

The new office will provide loss adjusting services to global and local insurance markets. It will focus on construction, mining, renewable energy, commercial, and industrial and liability markets.

The office will be headed by Chris Jones, senior loss adjuster. Jones is a South African national who has long experience of working in Africa.  As a site quantity surveyor, he has worked on large, international building and civil engineering projects. He entered the loss adjusting profession in 2000, bringing his technical expertise to major property and infrastructure insurance losses.

Jones has relocated from Charles Taylor’s Vancouver, Canada, office to establish the new office.

Damian Ely, chief executive officer, Charles Taylor Adjusting, said: “We are committed to providing insurers with access to high levels of technical expertise to handle their claims wherever they occur in the world.  Building on our established aviation surveying presence in Johannesburg, our new Cape Town office will extend our presence in Africa and enhance the service already provided to existing clients.”

He added: “There is a clear demand for insurers and reinsurers to work with international adjusters on larger and more complex losses in South Africa. Chris Jones has a wealth of experience and will be able to provide expert support to local and international insurers in Cape Town and across Africa, supported by our global team of adjusters.”
