Chaucer taps former Zurich/Chubb veteran as new CEO of SLE Worldwide

Specialty re/insurance group  Chaucer has tapped a 25-year Zurich and Chubb veteran to lead SLE Worldwide Australia (SLE Holdings), an underwriting agency and Lloyd’s coverholder based in Sydney, Australia, as its chief executive officer (CEO).

Raj Nanra (pictured) will be responsible for the leadership, strategic delivery and sustainable financial result of the business.

Nanra has held executive positions at Zurich, and Ace (Chubb). He joins SLE from IQumulate where he served as CEO with responsibility for the general oversight, management, and strategic development of the business.

The Chaucer Group acquired SLE in 2017. SLE writes a broad range of specialty property and casualty products, with a focus on the sports, leisure, and entertainment markets.

John Fowle, CEO of Chaucer Group, said: “We’re excited for Raj to join SLE. His strong record of successful business and product development and strategic planning will be invaluable to SLE and the Chaucer Group.”
