Chaucer unveils leadership change in Ireland as Moore exits
Specialty re/insurer Chaucer has appointed Jonathan Sutcliffe as general manager of Chaucer Insurance Company DAC in Dublin, replacing Michelle Moore in the role.
The current head Moore is leaving the company at the end of March. She has led the launch and build-out of Chaucer’s speciality re/insurance company in Ireland for the last four years, supporting its international growth strategy.
Sutcliffe first joined Chaucer as head of underwriting in Dublin, and worked closely with Moore and her team to drive the company's vision and growth plans forward. His previous experiences include leading China Re Syndicate 2088 and a decade with XL Catlin as head of casualty reinsurance in Bermuda.
Rob Callan, non-executive chairman of Chaucer Insurance Company, said: "[Sutcliffe] has brought significant value to the business and I am confident that this will continue as he takes on responsibility for the overall direction and management of our business in Dublin.”
John Fowle, CEO of Chaucer, added: “We are grateful for Michelle’s leadership and dedication, and on behalf of everyone at Chaucer I wish her well in her future endeavours.”
Moore commented: "This decision was a very difficult one for me to make. Chaucer Insurance Company has an excellent team in Dublin, a well thought out business model and exciting growth plans. I wish Jonathan and all my former colleagues at Chaucer the very best for the future.”
