Chubb makes key leadership appointments in North America business

Property/casualty insurer Chubb has unveiled key leadership changes in its North America business, including a new chief operating officer and regional executive officer of field operations.

Robert Poliseno has been appointed chief operating officer, North America field operations, succeeding Jeffrey Updyke, who has moved to a new role within the small business insurance segment.

Poliseno will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Chubb's full portfolio of personal and commercial insurance products and services to agent and broker distribution partners through 48 branch offices across North America. He will assist in the day-to-day management with specific focus on distribution and marketing. In addition, he will oversee Chubb Insurance Solutions Agency, Producer Advisor Roundtables, and Agency Education services.

Most recently, Poliseno served as the company's regional executive officer for Chubb's Mid-Atlantic region. Effective immediately, Melissa Scheffler will assume that role and lead local delivery of Chubb's offerings through retail distribution partners throughout the states of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Washington D.C., Virginia and West Virginia.

Scheffler most recently served as Mid-Atlantic region chief operating officer, a role she has held since 2018.

Both the executives will report to Chris Maleno, senior vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America field operations.

Maleno said: "Robert and Melissa are outstanding executives and top performers within our company. Both have long tenures at Chubb, as well as extensive experience in leading our local distribution strategies. I am confident they will continue to further the success we have had to date, as they take on these critical roles."
