Clyde & Co poaches insurance team from rival to expand in US

Law firm Clyde & Co has opened new offices in Chicago and Washington and hired ten partners from the insurance and litigation group of rival firm Troutman Sanders.

Clyde & Co's new Chicago office will be led by Clint Cameron supported by three other partners Eileen King Bower, David Cutter and James Sanders.

The other six partners, who will be based in Washington, include Jack Gerstein, David Gische, Leslie Ahari, Meredith Werner, Patrick Hofer and Gaby Richeimer.

James Burns, the head of Americas at Clyde & Co, said: "With this latest growth we continue to make progress towards our goal of being the leading insurance coverage and defence firm in the US.

"This is a significant and high-calibre group of lawyers. They provide us with a presence in two key locations and strengthen our ties with some of our largest clients and will be a terrific addition to our firm in the Americas and beyond."

Mike Knoerzer, managing partner at Clyde & Co New York, added: "Many of our clients have significant operations in Chicago and across the mid-west so having a presence there is important for us as a national player. Likewise, being in the administrative heart of the country in Washington, DC is a significant move. We have known this group for a long time and they will be a great fit for our business and our clients."
