CNA Hardy swoops on Zurich/Chubb to expand in London market

Specialist commercial insurer CNA Hardy has hired senior Zurich and Chubb underwriters as it looks to expand its management liability offering in the London market.

Edward Crew (pictured) joins the company’s London/Lloyd’s management liability team as senior technical underwriter, and Oliver Devenish as underwriter.

Based in London, the executives will work across both Lloyd’s and Company platforms.

Crew has nine years’ experience in management liability, covering a variety of roles in both broking and underwriting. He joins us from Zurich where he was a senior underwriter and spent the last five years.

Devenish has six years’ experience in management liability including underwriting a variety of medium sized/large risks across the ML product suite and managing multinational accounts with the inclusion of local policy programs. He joins us from Chubb.

Yogesh Virji, class underwriter – management liability, said: “Edward and Oliver bring a wealth of experience and track record that aligns with our strategy to become a market leading Management Liability insurer in the UK and replicate the success we have had in North America. These appointments underpin our long-term commitment to the Management Liability market and I look forward to them forming an integral part of our exciting next phase of development.”
