Dubai National Insurance & Reinsurance appoints general manager

Dubai National Insurance and Reinsurance (DNIR) has promoted Ramez Abou Zaid to general manager (GM) from deputy GM.

Ramez Abou Zaid has been with DNIR since 1996, holding several key position including Deputy General Manager and Vice President, Legal & Administration. He takes over from Morten Holm.

Mohammed Al Habtoor, managing director of DNIR, said: "I am pleased to announce that the board of directors approved the promotion of Ramez Abou Zaid. He has been with the company for 18 years and we are confident that his vast experience and track record will help Dubai National Insurance & Reinsurance in its future growth plans, and at a time when the insurance and reinsurance market in Dubai is flourishing.

“The UAE has the largest insurance market in the GCC, and it is expected to grow significantly this year following reforms which were recently put in place. DNIR is one of the pioneers in the insurance sector, and we want it to continue to be a market leader. I am confident that Abou Zaid can help us achieve our goals.
