Ed hires pair of actuaries from Argo and AmTrust
Broker Ed has hired a pair of experienced actuaries from Argo Group and AmTrust, respectively.
James Francis joins from Argo Group where he served as the head of group capital modelling, after having worked as a senior consultant at Deloitte. In this role Francis will further build upon Ed’s actuarial capabilities and advise clients, principally in the areas of risk transfer and capital management.
Laura Baird joins from AmTrust where she served as an actuarial analyst, as well as previous roles with Allied World and Travelers – a seven-year career which has seen her specialise in reinsurance pricing and parameterising of capital models. She will further build upon the analytics capability at Ed.
Jonathan Tilman, chief actuary at Ed, said: “We are delighted to have hired people of James’ and Laura’s quality and experience as we continue to build out our actuarial capabilities. Ed is investing heavily both in people and software as part of our ongoing commitment to providing expert advice and James’ and Laura’s strengths will really enhance what we can offer our clients.”
