Edwards Wildman lures re/insurance expert from rival
Law firm, Edwards Wildman has appointed James Crabtree as a partner in its London re/insurance department. Crabtree joins from Taylor Wessing and advises on re/insurance claims and coverage disputes.
Crabtree's expertise is in marine and energy market claims, asbestos, environmental pollution and health hazard losses, D&O, E&O and financial institutions claims, as well as bankers' professional indemnity, property damage and business interruption claims. Crabtree has also advised on disputes in respect of political risks, global insurance programmes and captive cover.
Additionally Crabtree advises on the management of re/insurance portfolios in run-off, terms and conditions of re/insurance contracts and on commutations of reinsurance exposure.

He brings a good client following and has strong experience in a number of areas, including many specific areas where the firm has considerable strength including international claims, run-off portfolios and arbitration,” said David Kendall, co-chair of Edwards Wildman’s re/insurance department.
