Enstar names top leader to board of directors

Bermuda-based re/insurer  Enstar has appointed one of its top executives to its board of directors on the recommendation of its nominating and governance committee, which is comprised entirely of independent directors.

Orla Gregory (pictured), the company’s acting chief financial officer (acting CFO) and chief operating officer (COO), has joined Enstar’s board of directors.

She is expected to enter into an indemnification agreement with the company on the same terms as other current directors.

Gregory was appointed to the role of acting CFO in September 2021 and has served as the company's COO since 2016.

Since joining Enstar in 2003, Gregory has held increasingly senior roles, including chief integration officer from February 2015 and executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions of its subsidiary Enstar Limited from May 2014.

Gregory worked as financial controller of Irish European Reinsurance Company in Ireland from 2001 to 2003. She worked in Bermuda from 1999 to 2001 for Ernst & Young as an investment accountant. Prior to that, she worked for QBE Insurance & Reinsurance (Europe) in Ireland from 1993 to 1998 as a financial accountant.
