Epsilon appoints head of new accident and health division from Beazley

Australia-based cover holder Epsilon Underwriting Agency is forming a new accident and health division under the leadership of Tim Curling.

Former Beazley Australia accident and health underwriter Curling joins with immediate effect reporting to Paul O’Leary, chief underwriting officer.

O’Leary said: “Accident and health is the first of a number of new products we plan to release to the market over the next two years. We are delighted to have secured Tim to lead our efforts in the class, he is renowned in the Australian market and brings an unparalleled level of expertise.”

Curling brings with him more than sixteen years’ experience in accident and health business in Australia, having held senior underwriting roles at SRS Underwriting in Brisbane and more recently with Beazley Underwriting in Sydney.

Epsilon’s accident and health product offering is principally focussed on tailoring flexible and sustainable outcomes for medium-to-large group personal accident and sickness and group journey accident covers. Epsilon’s accident and health division will focus on construction, mining, energy, transport, manufacturing, electrical and plumbing, union and non-union EBA compliant income protection covers, as well as industry association schemes and amateur sports PA insurance.

Epsilon offers specialist liability, property, cyber and accident & health insurance solutions to brokers

Morgan Long, Epsilon’s CEO said: “As the only international player in the underwriting agency space with no retail broking conflict, we see it is time to take advantage, allowing brokers to place their business with truly independent non-conflicted facilities. We intend to develop more facilities over the next two years as we pursue an aggressive development platform.”
