Ex-Cooper Gay CEO Esser to acquire broker AFL

Former Cooper Gay CEO Toby Esser is set to acquire a majority stake in independent London broker AFL, sources told Intelligent Insurer.

The deal is expected to be officially confirmed in the next few days.

Esser is set to become chairman of the broker on completion of the deal.

AFL operates, among others, in superyachts and cyber insurance.

Esser stepped down as CEO of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford in June 2015.

In September 2016, independent reinsurance broker Cooper Gay rebranded as Ed.
