Fidelis MGU accelerates talent strategy with leadership moves

Richard Brindle (pictured)-led Fidelis MGU, the recently formed managing general underwriter separate from  Fidelis Insurance, is accelerating its talent strategy with a leadership reshuffle and expansion of its executive committee.

Fidelis MGU has appointed Deborah Leen as head of human resources alongside two senior executives who have joined the Fidelis MGU executive committee.

Leen will be based in London and report to Rinku Patel, group chief operating officer and CEO of Pine Walk. She will also become a member of Fidelis MGU’s executive committee.

Leen will be responsible for overseeing Fidelis MGU’s talent strategy, while ensuring it continues to align with the company’s diversity, equality and inclusion goals.

Leen has more than 25 years of human resources experience in the financial services sector. She joins Fidelis MGU from Arrow Global Group where she was HR director for the investments division. Prior to this, she was interim Head of HR at Fidelis Insurance.

Leen will be joined by two further recent appointees to the Fidelis MGU Executive Committee. Ben Fortune, Bermuda chief underwriting officer, who has been with Fidelis since 2015 and Simon Crone, head of partnership underwriting and EEA chief underwriting officer, who has been with Fidelis since 2019.

Fidelis MGU has also promoted Nadia Beckert to senior underwriter of its reinsurance division, Jordan Ray to senior underwriter of its renewables division and Henry Edwards to head of contingency.
