Former AssuredPartners vice chair becomes president of US broker Acrisure

US insurance broker Acrisure has appointed former vice chairman of AssuredPartners Michael Sherman as president, effective immediately.

Sherman joined Acrisure in January as a strategic advisor. He will continue to report to Acrisure's CEO Greg Williams. Williams, who previously held the additional title of president, will remain responsible for the overall oversight of Acrisure.

Sherman began his career at insurance brokerage Dawson Insurance in 1978, and served as its CEO since 1986. Following the company's sale to AssuredPartners in 2012, Sherman continued to serve as Dawson platform chairman and CEO, as well as vice chairman of Florida-based property/casualty broker AssuredPartners.

"This is an appropriate time to create a separate position of President, and Mike is extremely qualified to assume this role," Williams commented. "He will continue to apply his vast operations and leadership experience as we further build Acrisure into the preferred provider of insurance solutions. We have worked closely together over the past several months and during that time he has impressed me with his insights and vision as we continue our focus on accelerating organic growth and operational excellence. Mike will also assist us as we continue to identify strategic acquisitions around the globe."

Sherman added: "I am very excited and honoured to assume this role at Acrisure. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues throughout the organization to drive the company forward and help build enduring value for all of our stakeholders."
