Former CEO Fonseca resurfaces as Brokerslink chairman
Global broking company Brokerslink has appointed one of its founders and former CEO José Manuel Fonseca as its new chairman.
Manuel Fonseca replaces Grégory Allard who is stepping down after his two-year tenure.
Earlier in February, Manuel Fonseca stepped back from his role as the CEO of Brokerslink in order to focus on managing growth of MDS Group, a Brokerslink reference shareholder, of which he is CEO. Jacqueline Legrand was appointed as his successor.
Manuel Fonseca also sits on the board of directors of reinsurance firm Ed. He will be supported in his new role by Steve Hearn, Brokerslink board member and group CEO of Ed, who has been appointed vice chairman, replacing Patrick Chan - managing director and general manager of Nova Risk Services.
“When Brokerslink was founded in 2004, I wanted it to become a credible alternative to the large alpha house brokers, offering the strength and support of a global network but with a commitment to allowing regional brokers across the world to maintain their independence and continue to service their own clients with the wealth of local specialist knowledge that they are known and trusted for in their markets," Manuel Fonseca commented. "With the commitment and dedication of a fantastic team over the years, I have seen this vision become reality."
The announcement comes a day after Brokerslink announced the expansion of its network with 13 new affiliates.
