IGI appoints new chief actuary from Capsicum Re

International General Insurance Holdings (IGI) has appointed Stephen Rix as its new chief actuary from Capsicum Re.

IGI is registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre with operations in Bermuda, Jordan, UAE, Malaysia, Morocco and a wholly owned subsidiary in the UK.

Rix was most recently head of analytics at Capsicum Re. Before that he was chief actuary at Liberty Speciality Markets. He will be based in IGI’s London office.

Waleed Jabsheh, executive director of IGI UK, said: “We are delighted to have Stephen join us at IGI. He is well respected in the market and will help to advance the company’s actuarial potential. He will bring to IGI his expertise in using state-of-the-art technology and data management to develop pricing, reporting, analytical and business planning.

The IGI group underwrites a worldwide portfolio of energy, property, engineering, casualty, legal expenses, directors and officers, financial institutions, general aviation, ports & terminals, marine liability, political violence, forestry and reinsurance treaty business.
