Gallagher Re plucks Swiss Re, AXA senior executives in Paris
Global reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has beefed up its expertise in Paris with the addition of two new executive directors joining the firm from Swiss Re and AXA.
Mathilde Le Merle (pictured left) joins Gallagher Re with more than 20 years’ legal experience in the reinsurance and the broking industry, both in direct insurance and reinsurance, having spent several years as legal counsel at Swiss Re and Aon.
Mathilde’s legal expertise, market knowledge, and extensive experience balancing clients’ needs and expectations alongside reinsurance risk carrier constraints, will add a new dimension to the global service proposition for both life and non-life reinsurance clients, Gallagher said.
Taking up his role within the life reinsurance broking team based in Paris, fellow executive director Juan Manuel Fernandez Romo (pictured right) will support new life, accident, and health mandates across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Fernandez Romo has extensive experience in risk management, mergers & acquisitions and reinsurance.
He joins from AXA where he most recently served as a senior specialist within its corporate finance team, having previously worked in the inforce and structured reinsurance team and been head of economic capital for the Mediterranean and Latin America.
