Gen Re makes senior Asia-Pacific hires
General Reinsurance has made a number of senior appointments in the Asia Pacific region.
Pietro Toffanello will assume the role of property/casualty regional manager for Asia Pacific, in addition to his role of managing director of General Reinsurance Australia.
Toffanello said: “Today marks another important milestone on Gen Re’s journey in the Asia Pacific region. Our newly streamlined management structure embodies our strong dedication to better deliver our knowledge and resources to our local clients.”
Andrew Flitcroft will assume the role of deputy property/casualty regional manager.
Damien Leary will assume the role of property/casualty manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Rainer Schurmann will assume the role of property/casualty manager for Asia.
These newly created roles will report to Toffanello.
Tobias Pfau has been named regional chief treaty underwriter, with responsibility for the underwriting of Gen Re's treaty business in Asia Pacific.
