Guy Carpenter acquires Smith Group

Guy Carpenter has agreed to acquire South Portland, Maine-based Smith Group, a specialist disability reinsurance risk manager and consultant.

Operations for the company will continue to be based in South Portland, Maine. Smith Group employees have extensive experience in the areas of actuarial science, market research and risk management.
