Guy Carpenter grabs WTW's Lawrence to lead US fac operations

​Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company, a business of Marsh & McLennan Companies, has appointed Henry Lawrence as a managing director, GC Fac UK.

Lawrence joins Guy Carpenter from Willis Towers Watson, where he was managing director and global head of broking, facultative, having spent his entire career at the company. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the facultative market with a particular focus on North American property.

In his new role, Lawrenc​​e will be responsible for the US region at GC Fac UK, a new position that forms part of a wider realignment process being implemented across the division. The realignment will see the structuring of product teams around geographic regions to ensure the delivery of client-centric solutions which precisely reflect the unique exposure dynamics of each territory. Based in London, Lawrence will report to Dominic Samengo-Turner, global head of facultative, Guy Carpenter.

Samengo-Turner said: “We are currently evolving the structure of our UK Facultative operations to ensure greater geographic and product alignment, and the development of highly customized facultative products that offer our clients a more expansive range of solutions. Henry is the perfect candidate to lead activities in the US for GC Fac UK and is a fantastic addition to the global Facultative team.”
