HDI Global snares lead marine underwriter from major German insurer

Specialty lines insurer  HDI Global SE has hired a new lead marine underwriter from a major German insurer. The executive previously worked for two large Swiss insurers.

Caroline Blanchet (pictured) will be taking on an important role with the German industrial insurer at its Swiss location in Zurich.

Since 2014 Blanchet has served as head of Swiss branch and head of marine Switzerland as Munich Re subsidiary ERGO. Prior to that, she worked as head of marine and senior underwriter marine at Zurich Insurance Company and Swiss Re, respectively. She began her career in the insurance industry in the 1990s as an underwriting assistant marine with Gerling-Konzern Allgemeine in Paris.

In her role as lead marine underwriter with HDI Schweiz, Blanchet will report to Philipp Surholt, head of property, engineering lines, marine.
