HDI to launch A&H offering in the UK with Sompo hire

German industrial lines insurer HDI Global has unveiled plans to launch a new accident & health (A&H) department for the UK and Ireland.

Building upon HDI’s group-wide expansion in the class, Kieran Morrin has been employed as its director. Morrin has underwritten the class for over a decade on behalf of several sector-leading insurers, most recently for Sompo Canopius, and previously for Zurich Insurance Group and Chubb Insurance.

“Kieran has been hired to create our Accident & Health proposition to sit alongside our existing market offerings to the UK market, and our existing A&H propositions around the world,” said Richard Taylor, managing director at HDI Global - UK & Ireland.

“Our first UK A&H proposition is a Group Personal Accident & Business Travel product aimed at our Global & Major and Corporate customers. This has been carefully created with many unique features that we are sure will make it an attractive proposition for our many blue-chip clients,” Taylor added.
