Heritage subsidiary to write P/C business in sixth state
Heritage Insurance Holdings, a US property/casualty insurance holding company, has announced its subsidiary, Heritage Property & Casualty Company (Heritage P&C), has been approved by the Georgia Office of Insurance Regulation to write property and casualty policies in the state.
Georgia marks the sixth state in the US where Heritage P&C has been approved by authorities to write insurance. Heritage P&C is actively writing business in Florida and North Carolina and has been approved in South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and now Georgia. In addition Zephyr Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Heritage, is actively writing policies in Hawaii.
Bruce Lucas, chairman and chief executive officer, Heritage, said: “We are pleased to announce our approval in Georgia, which will be our seventh state for business production. Georgia represents another great opportunity to grow our footprint as a strong regional carrier in the southeast."
Heritage P&C has an application pending in Massachusetts. The company intends to continue to expand into new states where opportunities exist.
