Ince & Co strengthens re/insurance practice

Law firm Ince & Co has strengthened its re/insurance practice with the appointment of Julia Degen to its new office in Cologne, Germany.

The new office will open ahead of schedule on Oct 1 , 2016 and will be Ince & Co’s second in Germany, having opened in Hamburg in 2001. The new office will have a focus on the non-marine insurance and reinsurance markets.

Degen has nearly ten years of re/insurance both in-house and as a defence and coverage counsel.

Before joining Ince & Co, she worked for three years at Siemens as in-house counsel where she advised on insurance law related matters.

She joins as a senior lawyer and completes Ince & Co’s Cologne team, which also comprises partners Stefan Segger and Eva-Maria Goergen and associates Barbara Lorscheid and Marie Holzhauer.

Segger, together with associates Lorscheid and Holzhauer, join Ince & Co from CMS Hasche Sigle.

Goergen joins from Bach Langheid & Dallmayr. She represents insurers and reinsurers on contentious matters, including coverage and subrogation issues and drafting policy wording and general terms and conditions.
