Insurtech launches all digital AI-driven Getsafe in Germany

Getsafe insurance started operating in Germany to offer a fully-digital product covering property/casualty, life and health risks in a single solution.

The startup claims to offer a solution that is simple to use, without long-term obligations, and which will soon offer protection “in all relevant areas of our live and can be easily adopted to new life situations”.

The company describes itself as “Europe’s first insurance that is fair by design”.

As opposed to traditional insurers which co-founder and CEO Christian Wiens in a blog accuses of “making money from denying claims”, Getsafe makes money through charging a flat fee to cover costs while excess funds are funnelled to a good cause via charity partners.
“We built Getsafe to create the insurance experience we want for ourselves and our loved ones,” Wiens said.

Getsafe uses artificial intelligence and bots to operate. The business model allows Getsafe to offer a faster, cheaper and more enjoyable service than current insurance products, according to Wiens.

“We offer you instant coverage, which you can cancel anytime (but we’re pretty sure you won’t). We’ll pay claims fast. And we will be transparent on where your money goes,” Wiens said.

Getsafe is first releasing its liability protection which will be followed by drone, family and dental insurance.
