Ironshore names new leader of global environmental unit
Ironshore, a Liberty Mutual Company, has appointed Toby Smith as the president of its global environmental unit.
Smith will assume the role from John O’Brien following his recent departure from the company. He will report to Shaun Kelly, president and chief executive officer of Ironshore’s US operations.
Smith was instrumental in the launch of Ironshore Environmental in 2009. During his tenure with the company, he has served in various management positions, including underwriting, marketing and distribution of the environmental unit’s products and services for clients across Ironshore’s global platforms.
In addition, Kevin Fee has been named chief operating officer for the environmental group, reporting to Smith.
Fee has been an integral part of the environmental group at Ironshore having joined in 2009. Most recently, he has been the regional executive for the Philadelphia region, while continuing his involvement in the environmental unit.
