JLT expands M&A insurance practice with Allied World hire

Risk advisor and broker JLT Specialty, a subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, has appointed Hayley Tennant as partner within its mergers & acquisitions (M&A) insurance practice.

Hayley joins from Allied World Assurance Company where she was vice president, mergers & acquisitions with a remit of underwriting global deals and leading a team of underwriters. Prior to this, Hayley was a corporate finance solicitor at Norton Rose Fulbright advising on a wide range of transactions in the insurance sector.

JLT’s M&A insurance practice focuses on private M&A transactions with teams based in Europe, Asia and North America. In her new role, Hayley will look to drive new business growth across Europe - particularly within the legal and private equity space.

Ben Crabtree, head of M&A insurance at JLT Specialty, said: "Our goal has always been to retain and hire the best talent in the industry, and the addition of Hayley to our team is squarely in line with that approach. With ten years of M&A insurance underwriting experience on top of her time as a lawyer, Hayley will bring valuable insight to the placements for our clients and will be a great asset to our already successful team."
