JLT Specialty raids Willis

JLT Specialty has poached over 20 Willis executives to fill its specie, fine art and jewellery ranks.

David Gordon has been appointed as chief executive officer of the division. He previously served as global managing director, Willis fine art, jewellery and specie, a role he held since 2002. Prior to that he held senior roles at Marsh and Sedgwick.

Barry Vickery, a former executive director at Willis, also joins the JLT Specialty team. He has previously served as leader of Aon Risk Services' global fine art and specie team.

John Lloyd, CEO of JLT Specialty, said: “I am delighted to welcome David, Barry and all our other new colleagues to JLT Specialty. These individuals are widely recognised as being amongst the very best in their specialty area.

The fact that JLT has been able to attract them to join us is testament to our growing reputation as the world's leading global specialty broker and as an organisation that offers its people a unique client focused culture. The addition of these talented individuals to our existing strong capabilities creates without a doubt the market-leading global business in the specie, fine art and jewellery sector.”

Gordon added: “I am delighted to be joining JLT Specialty, a broker with a reputation for prizing deep specialty knowledge, putting its clients first and its entrepreneurialism. I look forward to working with the whole JLT team to create bespoke solutions to meet our clients' individual needs.”
