LMA hires Starstone/Hiscox exec for lead underwriting strategy role

The  Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has hired a new head of underwriting strategy from Starstone Insurance Group.

Guy Dormer (pictured) will take up the newly created role with immediate effect.

Dormer brings considerable strategic and corporate development experience in the global P&C insurance market to the LMA. He joins from Starstone Insurance Group where he served most recently as group head of corporate development. Prior to that, he was corporate development and strategy manager for Hiscox, leading all M&A and corporate development activities for the group.

LMA underwriting director Patrick Davison said: “I am delighted to welcome Guy to the LMA to lead the charge on strategic underwriting projects, such as the move to principles-based regulation and the implementation of the new LIC operating model.

“Guy’s exceptional abilities are ideally suited to supporting the market with significant projects such as this and wider efforts to continually improve underwriting expertise within the Lloyd’s market.”
