Lockton hires from Marsh unit to expand benefits practice

Insurance broker Lockton has appointed Gary Hartnett as southeast series employee benefits practice leader in its Charlotte office.

Prior to joining Lockton, Hartnett served at Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan, for more than 20 years working in various local and regional leadership roles. He was a lead strategist on multiple, complex multi-national deals where he designed benefits solutions for clients.

In this newly-created role, Hartnett will assist Lockton Associates with solutions to address complex client benefit challenges. He will have overall responsibility for the benefits practice in Lockton's seven offices throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.

"Gary is a great asset to our team and to our clients," said Manoj Sharma, chief operating officer in Lockton's Southeast Series. "He has expertise in strategy and numerous complex multi-national clients. Clients can count on him for sound advice, and Associates have an opportunity to learn from his years of experience."
