London market veterans launch Commonwealth Insurance Forum

Two London market veterans have launched a new body, the Commonwealth Insurance Forum (CIF), to promote the industry within the 53 countries of the British Commonwealth.

Francis de Zuluet, the chairman of the new venture, is the chief executive of managing general agent (MGA) advisor Alpine Development Partners, and a co founder of the UK Managing General Agents' Association. Robert Lyle, a director of the forum, is a co-founder of Lloyd's broker BPL. Both continue to operate in the London market.

CIF, a not-for-profit organisation, says that it has the support of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Richard Leftley, chief executive of MicroEnsure, and Ekhosuehi lyahen, secretary general of the Insurance Development Forum.

The Commonwealth's population is 2.4 billion.
