Mapfre unveils reinsurance leadership changes in Europe

Mapfre Re, the reinsurance arm of Spain's Mapfre Group, has made senior leadership changes in Europe.

Javier San Basilio has been appointed new chief underwriting officer (CUO) of Mapfre Re, replacing Miguel Ángel Rosa, who has recently been appointed CEO of Verti in Germany.

San Basilio is currently the European regional director of Mapfre, based in London. In this role, he will be replaced by Mark Meyerhoff, who was director of the Mapfre Re's office in Munich.

Meyerhoff will also join the reinsurer's management committee.

All the changes will be effective as of January 1, 2021.
