Markel taps Willis & QBE vets in build-out of Asia marine team
Specialist insurer Markel International has plucked fresh underwriting talent for its Asia marine team, which includes veterans of Willis and QBE.
Zita Fok (pictured left) will take a seat at the Hong Kong office as a specialist marine underwriter while Dawn Soh (pictured right) heads to the Singapore office as a fine art and specie assistant underwriter.
Fok arrives from Willis Hong Kong, where she served as an executive director in roles working directly with international ship owners and ship management companies. Soh was previously a senior executive at QBE Insurance and brings eight years of marine underwriting experience.
Christian Stobbs, managing director of Markel International in Asia, said: “In line with our commitment and expansion in the Asia Pacific region, we are looking forward to having Zita and Dawn join our marine team. With these two great appointments and their respective specialist expertise, Markel will be able to better support our brokers and clients from Hong Kong and Singapore. We strongly believe that Zita and Dawn will help raise our knowledge and technical skills as a specialist insurer for our marine solutions within the region.”
