MarketScout hires Lloyd’s veteran to expand coverholder and MGA binding facilities
US-based insurance exchange and specialty MGA MarketScout has expanded its national private client practice with the addition of Chris Hatt as managing executive.
Hatt will be based at MarketScout’s corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
Hatt has over 30 years of underwriting and broking experience in the London and Lloyd’s market. Prior to joining MarketScout, he worked at Shepherd Compello as a director, building and expanding the binding facility business in North America.
Previously, Hatt was the CEO of Decus Insurance Brokers, where he was responsible for the production and placement of US binding authorities and in-house underwriting capability for Lloyd’s facilities.
Richard Kerr, CEO of MarketScout, said: "We continue our efforts to recruit the very best talent in the private client sector. Chris has proven himself time and again as an individual with integrity who enjoys tremendous respect from the underwriting community in London and across the globe."
"Chris will work on a national scale addressing difficult accounts and undertake a pivotal role in MarketScout’s many underwriting facilities. Our primary goal is to first and foremost serve our customers and make a profit for our underwriting partners," he added.
