Miller makes senior appointments

Miller Insurance Services (Miller), a specialist re/insurance broking partnership, has appointed Greg Collins as deputy chief executive officer and Ben Speers to the board as chief operating officer (COO).

Miller has also named Jonathan Fussell as partnership secretary and Ken MacDonald to the board with continued responsibility for Miller’s property and casualty business unit. In addition, he will serve as a member of the audit committee.

These appointments and changes to its partnership board and sub committees are in support of the company’s continued growth, according to Miller.

Miller has also suggested in 2017 it is the board’s intention to appoint Collins as chief executive officer. Nicholas Lyons will step down as non-executive chairman of the LLP with Graham Clarke assuming this role.

Collins has worked in the insurance industry since 1977 and joined Miller in 2004 to lead its professional risks business. He was appointed to the Miller board in 2007 and became COO in 2011.

Collins is on the board of The London and International Insurance Brokers' Association (LIIBA) and is the LIIBA representative on the London Market Group (LMG) Central Services Refresh Programme (CSRP).

Speers joined Miller as head of legal in 2011 and has been working in and with the insurance industry since 1998. He has been a qualified lawyer for more than 15 years and has worked in both Sydney and London.
