Miller raids Willis for new hire as it targets Asia-Pacific expansion

Specialist insurance broker,  Miller, has named a new head of strategic development to lead its expansion in Asia-Pacific.

Ron Whyte joins from Willis Towers Watson where he most recently he held the role of COO of corporate risk and broking for Asia. He will drive Miller’s growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining WTW in 2018, Whyte held positions at Integro, where he was co-head of international, as well as Guy Carpenter where he co-headed its global facultative unit, GC Fac.

His role at Miller will take effect from September 1, 2021.

Mike Papworth, head of Asia, said: “Our international strategy is centred around making key hires at our regional hubs and we continue to attract market talent that is drawn to Miller’s vision and exciting growth plans. Our intention is to grow significantly in Asia and Ron is the ideal person to bolster these efforts by evaluating and driving investment opportunities in this important region.”

Whyte added: " Miller’s entrepreneurial ethos and collaborative culture are particularly attractive, and I look forward to working alongside the teams in Singapore and London to deliver its quality proposition to clients.”
