MS Amlin plucks 15-year Hiscox vet for property delegated authority

Lloyd’s global re/insurer  MS Amlin Underwriting (MS AUL) has nabbed a 15-year Hiscox veteran to step in as its head of property delegated authority in a move slated for November.

Simon Morgan (pictured) will be set underwriting strategy and lead the company’s property binders and facilities teams to support growth for the wider property business.

Morgan comes to MS Amlin after fifteen years at Hiscox, where he most recently served as divisional director for property in Hiscox’s London Markets business with a $500 million portfolio under his belt. He had previously been a property underwriter at Kiln.

The head of property and allied lines at MS Amlin Underwriting Limited (MS AUL), Sam Geddes, commented: “I am delighted that Simon will be joining our property team at MS AUL. His appointment builds on the momentum within the division, following the recent appointment of Julie Ferguson, who leads our Open Market portfolio. As we continue to strive towards building one of the strongest property teams in the market, I am confident that Simon’s breadth of experience, sector expertise and the depth of both his broker and client relationships will support our ambitions to develop a best-in-class proposition.”
