Neon appoints two execs to Lloyd's managing agency board

Specialist Lloyd's insurer Neon has appointed Michael Wade and Simon Hayes to its managing agency board as non-executive directors.

Wade was most recently the executive chairman of Besso Insurance Group, which has been acquired by BGC Partners, and previously served on the council and committee of Lloyd’s. He has over 30 years of experience at Lloyd’s and is currently a senior advisor to the cabinet office.

Hayes is currently the chairman of Peel Hunt, having previously served as chief executive for 10 years. He has previously worked at Methuen, a Lloyd's underwriting agency.

Martin Reith, chief executive officer of Neon, commented: "To appoint two individuals of the calibre and market reputation of Michael and Simon is a strong reflection of the journey Neon is on and our long-term strategic ambitions.

"Michael is a hugely respected figure across the London Market, and rightly so, while Simon has enjoyed great success at one of the UK’s leading independent stockbrokers. They are great additions to our Board and I look forward to working closely with them as we continue to move Neon forward apace."
