Neon hires Hiscox underwriter to further build property team
Specialist Lloyd's insurer Neon has appointed former Hiscox underwriter Ben Murphy to its property insurance team in London.
Murphy is the latest in a series of high profile hires over the past year across London and Bermuda offices to build Neon’s property insurance offering, led by Chris Fisher. The other appointments include property D&F (direct and facultative) underwriters Dwayne Hunt and Kevin Stokes in Bermuda, and Sam Yates and Catherine Sethi in London.
Murphy started his career at AIG, and most recently worked at Hiscox. During his time at Hiscox, he spent 12 years as a property underwriter, most recently working on the commercial property account and specialised in North American and Caribbean business.
In his new role at Neon, Murphy will support the build out of Neon’s proposition in the commercial binder space to supplement its existing binder, open market D&F and property reinsurance businesses. He will work alongside Jonathan Powell, a Lloyd’s underwriter who joined Neon earlier this year.
