PartnerRe taps Hannover Re EVP for US life business

Bermuda-based PartnerRe has appointed Hannover Re's Chris Shanahan as executive vice president, corporate development, US life.

Most recently, Shanahan was executive vice president, mortality solutions and corporate marketing at Hannover Re Life in the US where he had overall responsibility for managing the traditional life reinsurance business, including business development, operations and marketing.

Working within the life business unit of PartnerRe, Shanahan will report to CEO North America life Alan Ryder.

In his new role, Shanahan will lead efforts to develop and advance the strategy for PartnerRe’s US life reinsurance business by leveraging the company’s global expertise to deliver life reinsurance solutions tailored to the needs of the US market.
