Marcus Bale and Paul Andrews have each been appointed to the newly created roles of deputy active underwriters.
Bale is deputy active underwriter for schemes and affinity, and will oversee property, casualty, engineering and leisure & hospitality. Bale comes to ProSight from NIG.
Andrews is deputy active underwriter for specialist lines, and will oversee film & contingency, marine, accident & health, and PI. He was previously chief operating officer at Castel Underwriting Agencies, part of the Barbican Group and has substantial Lloyd’s experience.
In addition to these leadership roles, ProSight has strengthened its underwriting team with a number of recent hires. John Young, film & entertainment underwriter, joins from Hiscox, Tom Butterworth joins from Channel as marine underwriter and David Rand joins from HCC International as casualty underwriter.
Roger Perry, Paul Beggy and Matt Bevan join from Canopius to form a new accident & health team at ProSight.
Bernard Mageean, managing director of ProSight, said: “With the appointment of these senior leadership roles and the significant expansion of our underwriting team, ProSight is well positioned to grow our business at Lloyd’s. I’m absolutely delighted with the calibre of people we are attracting to ProSight and we continually look to add to our existing talent.”
