RMS hires two senior execs; expands leadership roles

Catastrophe risk management firm RMS strengthened its team with the appointment of two senior executives.

Eric Yau joins RMS as general manager of software and Peter Eidelman joins as chief financial officer (CFO). Both will report to Hemant Shah, RMS co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO).

Yau will serve as the senior product executive for software and platform products, including RMS(one) and RiskLink. He brings experience with startups as well as technology companies such as BMC, Cognos, SAS Institute and IBM.

Eidelman, previously served at Intermolecular, a science-based technology company, where he helped the company through its initial public offering. He has also served as the CFO for C3 Energy, Cellon and Sunrise Telecom.

“RMS was founded in Silicon Valley and the spirit of the Valley is in our DNA; following the recent hire of chief technology officer Cory Isaacson, expanding our leadership team with Eric and Peter reaffirms our commitment to RMS(one) and further infuses tech into our company and culture," said Shah.

In addition, RMS has expanded the roles of six members of its leadership team. All members report to Shah.

Eric Drattell will continue as general counsel and will also lead corporate affairs, while Amelia Merrill will lead people and talent.

Matthew Grant has been appointed to the newly created role of general manager of RMS's modelling and data business.

Mohsen Rahnama continues to lead global model development; Bobby Soni will lead global sales and client services; and Paul VanderMarck will lead strategy and partner development.

“These veteran RMS executives have long-standing industry relationships and a deep understanding of catastrophe risk management," said Shah. “RMS has the right balance of catastrophe risk expertise, insurance domain experience and seasoned technology executives to continue to drive innovation in our modeling and software products."
