Ryan Specialty Group completes marine MGA acquisition

Ryan Specialty Group (RSG), a specialty insurance services business based in Chicago, has completed the acquisition of specialty marine managing general agency (MGA) Trident Marine Managers.

The Houston-based MGA offers nationwide coverages focusing on marine and energy operations within the Gulf of Mexico. Its core products include marine general liability, hull and liability, maritime employers’ liability and umbrella.

The transaction was announced on February 24, when the company said that following the completion of the deal Trident's joint managing directors Martin Hayes and Michael Johnson will continue to lead the business as a subsidiary of RSG Underwriting Managers.
