Ryan Specialty revamps transport after M&A; acquired talent to lead
Ryan Specialty is revamping its transportation practices across its underwriting and brokerage operations to following a string of acquisitions, mining the recently acquired units and its own specialty operations for new leadership.
Doug Hathaway (pictured) becomes president of the binding authority RT Transportation Practice. Most recently Hathaway served as both the President of Ryan's own specialty insurance wholesaler and wholesale broker RT Specialty and CUO of MGA/binding authority Interstate Insurance Management.
Pam Quilici will share the post of co-presidents of Ryan Specialty Transportation Underwriting Managers with Hathaway. Quilici joined Ryan Specialty through the acquisition of Crouse and Associates in December, 2021, where she had been COO.
Greg Crouse, formerly the CEO of Crouse and associates, becomes president of the brokerage side of RT Transportation Practice.
The existing MGA Interstate Insurance Management program will be rebranded as Ryan Specialty Transportation Underwriting Managers and serve as an expanded MGA platform.

The CEO of brokerage Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, Miles Wuller, added: “Doug and Pam bring together careers of transportation underwriting expertise across all 50 states on both an admitted and E&S basis. The formalization of Ryan Specialty Transportation Underwriting Managers will bring the resource and oversight together to service our existing proprietary transportation facilities and further the development of new solutions.”
