SCOR beefs up APAC board with executive who ran AXA’s Asian businesses

SCOR Reinsurance Asia Pacific (SRAP), a division of French reinsurer SCOR, has appointed Hitesh Shah as an independent non-executive director.

Shah joins the SRAP board alongside existing independent non-executive directors Eric Raynaud and Andre Chieng and he will chair the audit and risk committee.

He is an actuary with a background in health, insurance, retirement and investment. He is currently a council / board member at the Singapore Actuarial Society, managing director at the consulting and advisory firm Shah Advisory, and a director of the Singapore education charity Akaraka.

Over the past 25 years, Shah has managed and grown AXA’s Asian businesses between 1997-2002, consulted with clients across Asia whilst a partner at Deloitte, and led the marketing, customer, product and strategy functions as chief marketing officer at three MNC insurers - Manulife, Aviva and Prudential.

Shah currently works with insurers, fintech startups, corporate boards and professionals, providing their clients with specialist actuarial advice. His recent work includes the establishment of a high-net-worth business in Indonesia, positioning a distribution channel to help Singaporeans close their protection gaps, and building awareness and a market for a new blockchain-based insurance technology startup.
