SCOR Global Life Americas reshuffles senior leadership

SCOR Global Life Americas has made key leadership changes to its life and accident reinsurance unit.

Von Peterson has joined the group reinsurance team as vice president, sales and marketing. He brings 18 years of experience in group insurance from Securian Financial Group, having established its group client relationships department.

Brian Anderson has been promoted to lead SCOR’s group life and accident product lines. In the new role, he will be responsible for operational leadership and advancing SCOR’s strategic agenda in the reinsurance market. He joined SCOR’s group reinsurance operation in 2016. Prior to that, he served as second vice president at Securian and its subsidiary Minnesota Life.

The company announced that Mark Laulainen will be retiring in January 2018 from SCOR. He has led the group life and accident team and is now transitioning to a senior advisor position. Laulainen was instrumental in building Generali’s group life and accident reinsurance block in the 2000’s and transitioning this business to SCOR when Generali was acquired in 2013.

Kelly Munger, senior vice president of group reinsurance, commented: "I am excited about the experience we are adding to the team with the addition of Von and the promotion of Brian to lead the team into the future. We have additional hires in process which will continue to strengthen SCOR’s Group Life & Accident product knowledge.

"Mark has been instrumental in positioning SCOR for this expansion, and on behalf of SCOR I thank Mark for the knowledge and strong leadership he brings to our Group Life & Accident business," Munger added.
