TWIA backs insurer takeout carrots, but balks at Florida’s stick
The Texas windstorm insurer of last resort TWIA wouldn’t pursue depopulation on an all-out Florida model, limiting its recommendations to policy holders to a more modest set of incentives for take-out carriers, while retaining policyholder protections on affordability concerns, the TWIA governing board indicated in a set of policy indicative votes at its latest sitting.
